Allone (2020)

In pre-Christian Ireland, a young, recently bereaved woman with no one left in the world, travels the land in search of a remedy that can bring her child back to life, only to find a cure not for the child's mortality, but for the grief she can no longer bear.

Allone is a narrative short film in the Irish language, inspired by the traditional Buddhist parable of Kisa Gotami. It contains adaptations of ancient writings fro, the British isles. 

The film’s screenings include: Kerry International film festival; Fastnet Film Festival (nominee best Irish-language film); Still Voices Short Film Festival; Blow-Up International Arthouse Film Festival; Cork City Culture Night; Flickers' Film Feis at Rhode Island International Film Festival; Moscow Shorts; DoubleFEATURE (on PBS, in association with Rhode Island International Film Festival); Hollyshorts Screenplay Competition (semifinalist).

I was writer, director and production designer on this project. I produced this film with my father, Johnny, and with Peter Rollins. Cinematography is by Aidan Gault, editing by Caleb Swyers, music by Adrián Romero, post sound by Damian Enemark, colour by Bryce Behrman.
